Over the course of the preseason there's been some critical injuries to teams who have playoff hopes. Both Payton Manning and Tom Brady haven't played a preseason game. Tom Brady still has a bum ankle and is probably going to play in the opener against the Chiefs. Payton Manning had to have surgery on his knee. Tony Dungy says Payton is doing great and is right on schedule to play in the opener. The Chargers are projected to finish 3rd in the AFC behind the Patriots and Colts. But there best defensive player Shawne Meriman has to have surgery on his knee that would sideline him for the whole year. That could really hurt the Chargers D-fense This is probably the biggest injury of the preseason, The defending Super Bowl Champion Giants best player and only pro bowler, Osi Umenyora has to have knee surgery. He suffered the injury when he landed awkwardly on his knee and had to be carried off the field. That could be the biggest injury of the year and preseason that could also really hurt the giants chances at repeating their super bowl title. Those are the key injuries of the preseason.
