Why? Because they are a good team, they got from unranked to #2 without playing any cupcakes. They had two signature wins, at Auburn (at night where they have lost one game other than this) and West Virginia. You look at Kansas and UConn, neither of those teams have big wins against top programs.
Best Spoiler: Cal
Even an unbias person like me would admit this. This is a joke! You work your way up to #2 and for a few hours #1 with incredible talent, and what do you do? Go from 5-0 to 6-5. You’ve got a Heisman candidate receiver, and team that backs him up that beat the SEC East title (Tennessee) and in you last 7 games you go 1-6. Wow.
Best Team: LSU
Opponents needed a total of 6 OT’s to beat them. They have a dominant defense, with a fabulous offense under pressure. These guys are very good.
Worst Team: The “Fighting” Irish
They won two straight, give them that, against two teams with the combined record of 4-19.
Best Player: Darren McFadden
Against LSU, he took more snaps than Casey Dick (QB). He had 4 TD’s, 1 throwing. He is DOMINANT!!!
Worst Player: Jimmy Clausen
He not only makes freshman mistakes, but mistakes Juniors in high-school make.
Best Game: Stanford vs. USC

Worst Game (or biggest blowout): Michigan vs. Notre Dame
